The vaulted, log-beam ceilings, concrete floors, tall windows, and stacked river rock fireplace create a bright, spacious venue for tasters to relax and enjoy the fruits of the vine. Reclaimed barn wood from the pole barn's original troughs was used to build the bar and sales counter that sit in front of the unique, horizontal display racks on the back wall. In keeping with the natural feel of the winery and surroundings, river rock was pulled from the Applegate River and used throughout. An 800 sq. foot covered patio, with a vaulted ceiling and chandelier, sits just outside and shares the see-through river rock fireplace and tall windows. Service pieces are cleverly designed in attractive plastics and bamboo trays, so guests can take their delicacies to the river beach or ample meadows.
Red Lily's winery operation has a maximum annual capacity of 5,000 cases, and currently reaches 3,000 cases that include Tempranillo, Tempranillo Reserve, Rose (Tempranillo/Grenache blend), Tempranillo/Cabernet Sauvignon blend, and Verdejo (white). The state-of-the-art, 5,200 sq. foot winery facility, built in 2010, contains a fermentation room with six stainless steel wine tanks, barrel storage room, case storage room, exterior covered crush pad - plus a conference room which features rustic wood doors and trim, a custom wood conference table, a rustic chandelier created from weathered, metal lanterns, and large arched windows that frame a view of the barrel room.
On a higher plateau above the hospitality areas, the estate's two vineyards are focused heavily on Spanish grape varieties that are well-suited to the Applegate Valley's soil, climate, and elevation.
The Bean Patch Vineyard is named after the area where the property's original owners, homesteaders in the late 1800s, grew bush beans. This vineyard was planted in 2008 with four acres of Tempranillo vines. It has a predominantly northern aspect and rises to an elevation of approximately 1,600 feet.
In 2011, the 14-acre Stargazer Vineyard was planted with Tempranillo, Verdejo, Grenache, and Graciano. This vineyard has a predominantly northern aspect on a varying slope surrounding a knoll that provides an incredible view of the night sky â€“ hence it's dazzling name!
The main residence sits hidden on a high knoll overlooking the river and the winery. This 4,470 sq. foot, American cedar shingle-style home features 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, 2 fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen, and 600 sq. feet of stunning outdoor living space.
